How to organize party games:

I like party games very much, because they make any party much more interesting and fun. Playing party games makes even the shiest people feel free and the guests get to know each other better. So that the party games go smooth one needs thorough preparation beforehand.

Depending on your guests (children, adults or adults together with children) choose proper party games. Imagine what kind of party games would be interesting for your guests and choose several types of them: active, quiet etc.

If you have a children's party use simple party games. On the other hand, if you organize a party for teenagers or adults use more complex and catching games. Almost all the games can be suitable for any number of players. Determine the number of the games you’d like to introduce to your guests.

For little children choose 2-3 games so as not to overtire them. For older or adults choose any number of games: play until they have time and wish.

I use a number of active and quiet games at children's party. At the adult party I use more party games. If the players like one of the games most of all, you may use it for several times. You'd better organize the active party games while the guests are full of energy before the climax of the feast. After the climax you may organize quiet party games.

Choose the leader of the party. The leader will organize the party games. You can be the leader. The leader must know the rules of the games perfectly.

Choose the prizes for the party games. For prizes you may take any things you like: small toys, souvenirs, sweet things etc. These prizes will be given to the guests who win the games. You may choose some decorations or medals for prizes. Try to give at least one prize to each of the players during the party so that nobody is hurt. Especially if you have children at the party. If you notice that one of the players always remains without a prize, praise/support him/her. You can unexpectedly change the rules of the game and give the prize not only to the first player, but to the last one, saying it was the secret plan of the game. If you feel that somebody can be hurt during the games – choose team games or the games without the rivalry, the games just for fun.

Prepare everything you’ll need for the party games – chairs, boxes, pencils, sheets of paper and something else you may need according to the rules of the games. The peculiarity of the party games is that for almost all of them even for the funniest and the most interesting ones, you may use usual and available things. You can find these things without any difficulties. Mind, some of the things you need in the game may be broken while playing. For example, when I organized the party game "Musical chairs" the players fled into a rage and not long before the final 2 wooden chairs were broken (not on purpose, of course). On one hand I felt pity for the chairs, but on the other hand this circumstance added much to our fun. In the final of the game "the chief killer of chairs" was given a prize.

If the party is devoted to one of the children, decorate the hall, prizes and things you need in the game with the correspondent name/s and decorations. Let the players know they contend for the prizes related to the party guest. Be creative when organizing the party games. Don't be afraid of changing some rules according to the situation.
