6 year olds!!!!! when our children reached 6 they wanted a party for "big boys," this involved them having a party at the local sports centre. After looking into this I found that it was a really good idea as someone does the party for you. All you have to do is organise the food and the party bags, not organize a herd full of noisy 6 year olds. Other ideas we have tried are bowling and swimming parties, this can include food also which again is easy on the organisation for you. The children loved these ideas. Cinema trips always go down well too due to constant television adverts plugging the latest children's movie all you need is a bit of planning and the kids have the time of their lives. My children at this age were also taken out by other parents to the local farm for the day. Some places that are commercialised offer a package which involves the children being supervised around the farm and then they are sat down and given either a hot meal or picnic party boxes, this is included in the price.
